Coloured crystal glass bowl, made by the Belgian manufacturer Val Saint Lambert, 1970s, unfortunately not signed on the bottom. Inside the bowl there is a sticker that is no longer legible but indicates a sticker from the Val Saint Lambert Company. The heavy crystal designs created in the 1950's represented a major design change for the leading Belgian crystal manufacturer. The traditional cut crystal design was abandoned and heavy clear crystal with smooth lines and a modern sensibility was introduced. Items from the Val Saint Lambert manufactory are characterized by an exceptional quality of form and class of glass - crystal glass. Val Saint Lambert introduced a two-tone cut crystal, an innovation that gave Belgian crystal the international reputation it enjoys to this day. The bowl is used, but in good condition. It has very light surface wear commensurate with age and wear on the base: minor chips and minimal scratches on the bottom and scratches on the shell.
