Madonna and Child Hummel by Goebel
Beautiful, cream-white Mary with child, the so-called "Flower Madonna", Hummel by Goebel. The porcelain depiction of a “Madonna and Child” was made by the F. & W. Goebel factory based on designs by the Franciscan nun Maria Innocentia Hummel.
This special figure shows the Virgin Mary with her child. Her son leans on his mother's shoulder. He stands with his feet on a book and both of them are watching a flower. A bird sits at the edge of the book and accompanies her. Signed on the back: M. J. Hummel. Signed on the bottom: 10/1, Western Germany and the “bee”. Glazed porcelain. Estimated period: 1951-1959. The figure is in good condition, except for the glaze on the front of a flower on the dress that has chipped slightly at one point. Dimensions: 21.00×15.00×10.50 cm. Weight: 344g
